Description

This learning module describes common panel-based lighting control systems.

Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify common load control devices, including relays, contactors, controllable breakers, dimming modules, DMX512 controllers, and DALI-2 controllers.
  2. Design lighting control systems with an understanding of the use of controller programming, controlled outputs, and load control hardware to produce intended lighting behavior.
  3. Evaluate where load control equipment can be located in a lighting control system, including central control enclosures, distributed devices, room-level controllers, drivers, decoders, and luminaires.
  4. Describe key documentation, scheduling, override, emergency, integration, cybersecurity, and functional testing considerations for load control hardware.
